Visit to “Shreen” Garden Railway

Visit to “Shreen” Garden Railway

We spent a lovely morning at Peter Lord’s G-guage “Shreen” garden railway on Tuesday 10th july. The timing of which proved to be an inspired move considering the unbelievable hot weather, which has become too much in the afternoons. Carol must be thanked for her provision of sausage rolls, cakes and drinks which she provided, most welcome!  Since last year Peter has produced some additions to his layout with the introduction of a “Mere textiles factory; which has been scratch…

We agree that this way forward should stretch members so that they can seek advice from the more experienced cadre….

Great things are afoot, earthling…

After a jolly Christmas, and with Tom and Lyn escaping the recent frosts for a visit to warmer climes, progress has once again been caught by the camera. The O-gauge layout not only has track laid, but this wonderful fiddle-yard traverser turned up last week. The club’s new 00-gauge layout has…

Open day December 10th 2016

Open day December 10th 2016

The event went very well indeed, with a steady stream of visitors. The Albert layout ran for most of the time, whilst Tom hovered around his sales tables and Lyn and June organised drinks and eats in what space remained in the socal room. The n-gauge Burton on Shreen layout was kept running for most of the day, playing host to some distinctly un-British locomotives for a while. The O gauge layout does at last have something I can photograph…

Work in Progress November 2016

Work in Progress November 2016

First of all, don’t forget that the club is holding an open day on December 10th 2016. We hope to have the Albert layout running, and stock has been checked to make sure that finger-poking is only required at rare intervals. The n-gauge layout is being developed and looks as if it needs somebody to turn up with something to put on it and test that trackwork. The club’s new 00-gauge layout has also seen a lot of work. Here’s…
